Solar Hill Solar Power Plant

The first eco-friendly solar power plant in Serbia

Investor: Zeleni kolektiv d.o.o.
Country: Republic of Serbia

At the crossroads of wind, sun, and silence, in a hilly and mountainous region near the majestic Sićevo Gorge — a natural masterpiece known for its steep cliffs and rich biodiversity — we are building Serbia’s first eco-friendly solar power plant. Its name is symbolic: Solar Hill. With an expected annual output of 7,180 MWh, it will supply renewable electricity to the local population and agricultural plantations.

For us, Solar Hill is more than an energy facility. It is a space where solar panels and plants will coexist in perfect harmony — a concept known as agrivoltaics, which is gaining traction both in the region and across Europe. Our power plant is the first of its kind in Serbia, laying the foundation for a new practice in the national energy sector: integrating renewable energy with regenerative agriculture. The panels protect the soil from drying out and create a favorable microclimate for plants that thrive in partial shade. Beneath and around them, we are cultivating medicinal and aromatic herbs — lavender, irises, and roses — species known for their resilience and ecological value. These plants not only enhance the landscape, but play a crucial role in preserving natural balance: they attract pollinators, stabilize the soil microclimate, and help maintain biodiversity. In doing so, we support the natural life cycle of the area. Irrigation is provided by a small retention reservoir, which, in addition to its functional purpose, also creates a new habitat for local fauna.

Solar Hill will be more than just a power plant. It represents our vision of a sustainable future — a place where technology complements, rather than replaces, nature. Where the sun not only warms the earth, but also illuminates a path toward a more harmonious life with it. As Serbia’s first eco-friendly solar power plant, Solar Hill is proudly being built as a symbol of harmony — between clean energy, innovation, flora and fauna — and as a pioneering contribution to the region’s green transition.
