Expansion of the Kragujevac 2 and Kraljevo 3 substations
Higher Voltage for a Stronger Central Serbia Grid

As part of the second phase of the Trans-Balkan Power Corridor, Kodar Energomontaža completed work on expanding the Kragujevac 2 and Kraljevo 3 substations. This was the first time that the central region of Serbia received a 400 kV switchyard, representing the highest voltage level in the country’s transmission network.
In Kragujevac, we constructed a new 400 kV transmission line bay, finished all civil works, delivered and installed the complete set of electrical and telecommunication equipment, and commissioned the facility.
We completed the works six months ahead of schedule, despite challenges in procuring equipment during the pandemic – a testament to our high level of organization, expertise, and dedication.
This project further strengthens the stability and security of the power system, on which more than a million people in central and western Serbia rely.
