New 23 km of 110 kV transmission lines between TS Guča and TS Ivanjica

In order to improve the power grid stability of the Moravica District – a region with high-intensity agricultural and cold storage business activities – an initiative was launched for the execution of a new 110 kV transmission line on the section TS Guča – TS Ivanjica. In a bidding procedure Kodar Energomontaža was awarded the contract for the implementation of this complex project in accordance with the highest quality standards, complying with set deadlines and budget. The Investor on this project is EMS AD, which will be its owner after the completion of all works.

A new 23.2 km long transmission line, with 90 steel lattice towers in total, was executed in the period April, 2023 – May, 2024. Main construction works were completed within the foreseen period of time, and the completion of the connection with TS Guča and TS Ivanjica is expected after the completion of the remaining activities by EMS.

The transmission line route runs through hilly and wooded areas of the municipalities of Lučani and Ivanjica. We faced with frequent rainfall during the spring and summer of 2023 that slowed down the works. However, during the dry season we successfully managed to compensate for the lost time. Towers, foundations, phase conductors and optical cables have been installed in accordance with the technical documentation and without compromising on the quality.

“Our goal was clear – to execute works in accordance with the required quality, design and deadlines. We are pleased that even in this challenging environment we managed to remain consistent with the high standards of execution,” said Dubravka Damnjanović, project manager at Kodar Energomontaža.

The new 110 kV transmission line is expected to significantly improve the electric power supply security, especially in the area of Ivanjica, which has often been affected by power outages in previous decades. A stable grid is essential for the reliable operation of cold storage facilities, production facilities and agricultural systems throughout the region.
