We are about to commence the execution of works on the new section of Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor

Another 400 kV double-circuit transmission line ahead

We are on the verge of implementing another contract for the execution of a double-circuit 400 kV transmission line, this time from SS Bajina Bašta to SS Obrenovac. This project constitutes an integral part of the third section of the Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor for the transmission of electricity, one of the most important infrastructure undertakings of crucial importance for our country, but also for the region.

Following an international tender, we were selected as the contractor for a key section of this strategic project. Our scope includes the construction of a 109-kilometre-long 2×400 kV transmission line. Work will begin in April, with completion expected in 2027. The project is financed through a KfW Bank loan and EMS’s own funds, with support from the WBIF.

The third section of the Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor is not only a technical undertaking but also a crucial factor in strengthening the region’s power grid stability. This section establishes the connection among the power grids of Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Italy, thus ensuring better integration of the electric power market and a more stable power supply. Our involvement in this project not only contributes to the energy infrastructure, but also reinforces the establishment of Kodar Energomontaža as a leader in the energy transition of the Balkans.
