We are about to commence the execution of works on the new section of Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor

One more 400 kV transmission line is ahead

We are on the verge of implementing another contract for the execution of a double-circuit 400 kV transmission line, this time from TS Obrenovac to TS Bajina Bašta. This project constitutes an integral part of the third section of the Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor for the transmission of electricity, one of the most important infrastructure undertakings of crucial importance for our country, but also for the region.

We were selected in an international bidding procedure as the contractor for the execution of the crucial section of this strategic project. Our liability covers the execution of a 109-kilometer long transmission line, as well as equipping two transmission line bays in TS Obrenovac, as well as raising the TS Bajina Bašta to the 400 kV voltage level. The execution of relevant works shall commence in April, and the completion thereof is expected in 2027. The project is funded by a KfW Bank loan and EMS’ own funds, with the support of WBIF.

The third section of the Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor is not only a technical undertaking, this is also a crucial factor in strengthening the power grid stability in the region. This section establishes the connection among the power grids of Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Italy, thus ensuring better integration of the electric power market and a more stable power supply. Our involvement in this project not only contributes to the energy infrastructure, but reinforces the establishment of Kodar Energomontaža as a leader in the energy transition of the Balkans.
