Reconstruction of the 110/20 kV Bela Crkva Substation
No Interruptions for Users – Successful Reconstruction of a Key Substation

Bela Crkva and the surrounding areas are supplied with electricity through the only 110/20 kV substation in the region, making this point critical for the reliable operation of the local distribution system. For this reason, the reconstruction of the substation was an extremely sensitive task – to modernize the system without users noticing any interruption or disturbance.
In June 2022, Kodar Energomontaža successfully carried out the reconstruction of the relay protection system and introduced a modern remote control system. The outdated electromechanical protection was replaced with modern microprocessor equipment, enabling faster and more precise control of the power system.
The works covered as many as 25 cells of the 20 kV switchgear, including the delivery and installation of new cabinets for auxiliary power distribution. Despite the complexity of the task and the fact that this substation is the sole power source for the entire area, we completed all work without any interruptions to end users.
Thanks to careful organization, a skilled team, and work that was largely carried out at night (between midnight and 6 a.m.), Bela Crkva now has a modern, technologically advanced substation that ensures a stable and secure power supply – and users didn’t even notice that a major and complex modernization had taken place.
This is the strength of the professional and dedicated approach we foster at Kodar Energomontaža.
